• How to cite PHORONIDA data:

Scope and Data Use

PHORONIDA is in some ways comparable to a scientific journal that makes data freely available on the internet.  Thus the geographic and taxonomic scope, the exhaustive bibliography, and quantity of data provided depend on the scientists and organizations that provide data.  However, in contrast to data in a journal, the 'reader' can select and combine data in PHORONIDA. Although errors may exist in data, PHORONIDA is confident that the data are the best available in electronic form.

About the interpretation of results derived from PHORONIDA, users must recognize that the analysis and interpretation of data require background knowledge and expertise about the Phoronida and Lophophorata (including anatomy, taxonomy, and ecology).

Users must be aware that PHORONIDA is also a base to other databases distributed around the world. You can help address data gaps by encouraging the webmaster to make the data available online.
