The segments of thallus are cylindrical and relatively thick towards the proximal end, slender and pointed at the base. Central stem is cylindric and rather large. Branches are ramified and arranged in regular whorls. Each segment has several whorls which are in alternating order. The primary branches start with a large pore from the axial cavity and continue along the calcareous wall by ramification in many times and open out with many small pores, which are arranged in groups of 4 together at the surface, the ramification takes place about 5 times in each primary branch. »
