Foster (1989) suggests that “this species may be an extreme variant of Magellania venosa. (See remarks for M. venosa.)” In this part, this author wrote: “A better understanding of this species is particularly vital in order to adequately evaluate a numberof somewhat similar species that occur in the same area that may be variants of Magellania venosa. These similar specie include: Waldheimia smithi Pfeffer, 1866 (= Anecoboncha smithi Zezina, 1980); Magellania wyvillei Davidson, 1878; Anecoconcha obscura Cooper, 1973a; Syntomaria curiosa Cooper, 1982; and Dysritosia secreta Cooper, 1982.” |
